Stella Leowinata
Ballet Teacher & Choreographer
About me
Hello, my name is Stella and I am a ballet teacher and choreographer based in Toronto, Canada. After eight years of professional training and with six years of teaching experience, I believe that everyone can benefit from learning dance. I am passionate about helping each dancer reach movement mastery and discover individual expression.
Ballet teacher and choreographer at Poise Dance Academy (2015 to present)
Certified teacher with American Ballet Theatre NTC (2021)
Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, Psychology and Computer Science (2020)
Bachelor of Arts in Professional Dance and Performance from University of Kent (2015)
Graduate of Canada's National Ballet School (Class of 2014)
Private Ballet Coaching
After years of teaching classes at recreational and competitive levels, I am now offering private coaching sessions for young dancers wanting to pursue excellence within classical ballet.
Refine ballet technique - from extensions to jumps, from turnout to pointe work
Prepare for performance - learn pieces from repertoire, clean existing routines for performance, enter competitions or auditions
Personalized training to achieve your personal goals
Throughout my professional dance education I had the privilege of learning about different approaches and styles of ballet technique. Integrating this knowledge, I want to help dancers solidify their technique as a means to find their unique and authentic expression. Dancers are not just athletes after all, ultimately they are artists.
Choreography and dance workshops
As a choreographer I have worked in ballet, contemporary and jazz and have received multiple awards for pieces shown at various dance competitions.
I also enjoy creating dance workshops to teach a class with a combination.
I am always looking to explore new movements inspired by different dancers and styles of music.
